Statement of intent draft - WEEK 6

Statement of Intent Draft The song I have picked for my music video is 'Paper Planes' by M.I.A. I believe that the song as a whole would perfectly target the audience of socially-conscious, 16-25, middle to upmarket demographic. This is because the original song was released in 2009, however has had a large popularity since then. The genre is pop which is a major attractor for the age group of 16-25. It has managed to keep its popularity throughout the years by being used in films to further reach a wider audience. Socially-conscious audience members would be aware of problems going on around the world and so a protest that is not widely thought about would be what this segment of the audience  look for. story plan for music video

Image
Story Plan for Music Video 1. I would like the first shot to set the scene of my video by beginning with an establishing shot of the location. Also, I would like to incorporate elements of black and white filming to represent two different moods within the music video. When the shots are in colour, this will signify a positive shot, representing freedom. 2. In the second shot, I would like to present the main artist in the video.

'Treatment' Draft

Music Video Treatment Outline of Ideas for Music Video For my music video, I have decided to display the protest of how refugees and immigrants are treated by society these days. With this in mind, I aim to portray either a group or follow the narrative of a single person who falls into this category and create a story based on problems they face as an immigrant. I would like the video to display the true effects of this to the audience. My target audience would be young activists who care about making a change in the world. This group of people are the perfect target audience as the issue that the video will be protesting about, targets problems in the world that are not widely known. Also, the audience are young meaning that I will be ensuring that I include parts of the video that attract young members. An example of this is by using intertextual references of something relevant to this age group in order to appeal to them. Location/Equipment The location I will be using for m...
